At AgeFolk, we believe in complete transparency, integrity, and building trust with our readers. In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines and standard affiliate network policies, this page outlines how we fund our independent research, testing, and operations.
1. Affiliate Links and Commissions
Some of the links on AgeFolk are affiliate links. This means that if you click on a product or service link and subsequently make a purchase, AgeFolk may earn a small referral commission at no additional cost to you.
These commissions help support our research, cover server/editorial maintenance expenses, and enable us to produce free, in-depth safety resources for caregivers and aging adults.
2. Amazon Associates Program
AgeFolk is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for websites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
3. Editorial Independence & Integrity
Our editorial evaluations, recommendations, and reviews are strictly independent:
- We never accept monetary compensation or gifts in exchange for positive reviews or biased safety scores.
- Every home modification recommendation, mobility tool, or bathroom safety product is researched based on real-world utility, user feedback, safety certifications (e.g., ADA guidelines, DCOF ratings), and durability.
- The inclusion of an affiliate link does not influence whether a product is recommended or criticized.
4. Display Advertising (Google AdSense)
AgeFolk may display automated advertisements served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense. We do not directly endorse every single product or service displayed in automated banner units. Advertisements will always be clearly marked as “Sponsored,” “Ads,” or “AdChoices.”
